SUSTAINABLE COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT

With support from the Greater Des Moines Partnership, COSC launched its Sustainable Commercial Development Luncheon Learn series in February 2011. Featuring guest instructors, topics address ways green building principals can pay off in terms of economic, health and environmental savings as well as contributing to a community's overall vibrancy. RE-BUILDING A SUSTAINABLE IOWA

COSC's Re-Building a Sustainable Iowa statewide training program, a program focused on helping Iowa to build and re-build sustainably, included workshops focused on residential construction, commercial landscape and design, and energy-specific topics. Examples of presentations from the workshops are provided here as a source of reference on green building topics such a green roofs, storm water management and exterior lighting.
