The holidays are happening again, people. I must admit, I’m pretty excited to start decorating after Thanksgiving. There’s something special about taking things out for the second winter in our cozy little house, and starting new traditions as a married little family. The past few years we’ve trimmed the tree together while listening to Bing Crosby records — something we always did in my house growing up. I think I want to start a stocking tradition for St. Nicholas day where we hang them that night and leave notes for each other inside. A simple, non-spendy way to start the season and reflect a little bit. But what am I talking about all of this for? There’s not even snow on the ground yet.
My new friend Siobhan Spain from crochet class works for The Center on Sustainable Communities, a cool non-profit educational resource for sustainable building. Their annual holiday party/fundraiser, EVERGREEN, is tomorrow evening at West End Architectural Salvage and it looks like it will be a pretty jolly time. Yes, jolly. We’re getting into the spirit here, people. Tickets are $15 for non-members, $10 for members.
There will be a raffle, and the event will be emceed by local DIY diva, Michele Beschen.
Hey, I know those ladies!
I’ve seen a list of auction items and they look great (and green)!
Roxi Copland and David Zollo are playing. I think this will put the “fun” in fundraiser. And I’m not just saying that because I’ve developed girl crushes on Siobhan, her sister AND mom. The photos are from last year’s event.
